Silkie chickens are beautiful and kind little chickens.  Our Silkie chickens are truly one-of-a-kind, with their fluffy, soft feathers that feel more like silk or fur than traditional feathers. With their adorable round bodies, feathered crests, and even feathered feet, Silkies are the definition of charm 

Silkie Chickens have a unique and attractive appearance, making them very popular and much loved.  Beyond their looks, Silkies are known for their sweet, calm personalities. They love human interaction, making them perfect for families, children, or anyone who wants a friendly, affectionate addition to their flock. 

Silkies also have black skin underneath their soft fluffy feathers, which gives the birds an exotic look.   Silkies are also excellent mothers and often go broody, making them a great option if you’re looking to naturally hatch eggs. Their calm demeanor also makes them ideal companions for other chickens, as they get along well in mixed flocks. 

Silkies are popular as pets due to their docile nature and gentle disposition (they're great with children).

Silkie chickens are also gaining attention among poultry farmers because they can survive colder climates than most other breeds.  They also do great in the hot and humid Oklahoma summers.

Due to their gentle nature, Silkie Chickens often act as "nannies" for younger chicks as they protect them from predators and maintain order amongst the group.
