Cabaret & BRETANDA Boerboels
History
Cabaret Boerboels was established in 1993 by my father, Lood Mienie. He bought a pup, Waaksaam Mitzie, at an auction from Schalk Lourens. We registered with SABT/SABBA for many years until SABBS was formed. My father retired in 2014. He bred many well-known dogs over the years including Cabaret Klein Buks, Cabaret Pavarotti and Cabaret Son of a Gun.
Our kennel
I brought the dogs with me to Oklahoma USA to continue with the breeding program and established the Bretanda Boerboel line over time with Cabaret dogs and a little bit of blood from other lines. We are registering our Boerboels with the American Kennel Club who's breed standard conforms to the original SABT standard for our Breed, which is what we breed for.
We have 25 AKC champions, including the No 1 Boerboel in the AKC, 4 out of the first 5 years and the No 1 Female, 5 of the first 5 years after the breed was accepted in the AKC in 2015. We had the first Puppy of Achievement, Champion, Grand-champion and Silver Champion of the breed in AKC.

Gabby was the No #1 Boerboel in AKC for 2018 and 2019. She earned Puppy of Achievement status at the age of 9 months. Gabby is the first Silver Champion of the Breed. She has been retired but gave us beautiful daughters to continue with and is living the good life on the farm.
